My parents came to the US from Mexico through the Bracero (laborer) work program in 1949. It would be great if Juan or Carlos could look into this program and update it to make it viable today. It could be a path to citizenship. The immigrants who have been in the US for a while should be given a work card period with a fast-track system to naturalization. The Bracero card could include a barcode that can be scanned by ICE to verify the person has the right to work in the US.
